Contrasts between Hebrews 1 and 2 (3)
In chapter 1 Christ is the One whom the angels of God worship, but in chapter 2 He is the One who praises God (1:6; 2:12). Finally, in chapter 1 Christ is the One in whom people trust, but in chapter 2 He is the One who is trusting (1:10-12; 2:13).

Contrasts between Hebrews 1 and 2 (1)
It would be helpful to consider certain contrasts between Hebrews 1 and 2 in the way they reveal Christ for our experience and enjoyment. In chapter 1 Christ is the Son of God, but in chapter 2 He is the Son of Man (1:2, 5; 2:6). Chapter 1 also tells us that Christ is in the heavens, but chapter 2 says that He is on the earth (1:3, 13; 2:9, 14).

Word of His power
After creating all things, the Son became the Upholder (Heb. 1:3). The earth is suspended in the air. There are no columns supporting it. After Christ created the earth, He began to uphold it. He upholds it by the word of His power. Christ the Son upholds the universe very easily. He does not do anything—He just speaks. He upholds all things by the word of His power.

Key of God's manifestation in the flesh
The mystery of godliness is God manifested in the flesh (3:15-16). Today we are the flesh in which God can be manifested. God is manifested in the flesh, but you have to realize that God can never be manifested by the flesh. The flesh is just the earthen vessel. It is not the key to carry out God’s manifestation. The key of God’s manifestation in us is our spirit.

Strong exercise of our spirit for godliness
Godliness is the issue of the divine dispensing. Such a godly life issuing from God’s dispensing depends upon the exercise of our spirit. God is not dispensing Himself into lifeless vessels. God, is dispensing Himself into us, the living vessels, who already have our own taste, choice, preference, feeling, thinking, mentality, will, etc. If we do not exercise our spirit strongly to cooperate with the Lord, God cannot dispense Himself into us.

Our only need is to be exposed
Because we are God's children possessing His life and nature, there is no need for us to imitate Him or copy Him. As long as we grow in His life, we shall be the same as He is. Our only need is to be exposed so that we may give up all hope in ourselves. When we are exposed, we shall realize that our natural life is hopeless. Then we shall renounce our natural life, turn to the life of our Father, and stay with the divine nature.

Purposing in our spirit
[Acts 19:21a says, "Paul purposed in his spirit"]. We may think that to purpose or make a decision is always by using our will. But we must purpose and make decisions in our spirit. Then we are spiritual men.

Perceiving things in our spirit
We also need to perceive things in our spirit. [Mark 2:8a says "And immediately Jesus, knowing fully in His spirit that they were reasoning this way within themselves."] To observe things according to our sight and understanding is not the real perceiving. The proper perceiving is to see through things and to know things thoroughly by exercising our spirit.

Real worship (3)
Our meetings need to be full of the exercise of the spirit. When we come together to meet, before singing, before praying, before reading, before doing anything, all of us should exercise our spirit. There should be such a worshipping spirit in all our meetings. All the saints must rise up to exercise their spirit. Our spirit needs to worship God directly apart from merely depending upon singing, reading, or praying in a formal way.

നമ്മുടെ യോഗങ്ങൾ ആത്മാവിന്റെ വ്യായാമത്താൽ നിറഞ്ഞതായിരിക്കണം. നാം ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടിവരുമ്പോൾ, പാടുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ്, പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ്, വായിക്കുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ്, എന്തെങ്കിലും ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ്, നാമെല്ലാവരും നമ്മുടെ ആത്മാവിനെ വ്യായാമം ചെയ്യണം. നമ്മുടെ എല്ലാ യോഗങ്ങളിലും ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ഒരു ആരാധിക്കുന്ന ആത്മാവ് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. എല്ലാ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരും തങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാവിനെ വ്യായാമം ചെയ്യുവാൻ ഉണരണം. കേവലം ഔപചാരികമായ രീതിയിൽ പാടുന്നതിനെയും, വായിക്കുന്നതിനെയും, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നതിനെയും ആശ്രയിക്കാതെ, നമ്മുടെ ആത്മാവ് ദൈവത്തെ നേരിട്ട് ആരാധിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.
